Jody Jean Ballinger, 54, of Rayville, Mo., died at 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at her home.
Jody was born on Oct. 7, 1961, in North Kansas City, Mo., to Gene and Sharon (Keith) McClain. She married Brian Ballinger of Lawson, Mo., on Jan. 20, 1979. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors besides her parents and husband include one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremie and Mandi Ballinger of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Scott Crall of Liberty, Mo.; three grandchildren, Payton, Dalton and Nolan Ballinger; four nieces, twins Halee Hendley and Hannah Baxley, Brynn Crall and Malia Fairchild; and one grandniece, Ellianna O’Conor.
Jody worked for Eddie Pickett Auction Service for the last eight years. She was also involved in concessions for other auction companies for several years. Jody loved her family dearly. Her hobbies included buying, selling and trading firearms with her husband; in her younger years she enjoyed raising, showing and racing American quarter horses. She was a member and custodian of the Siloam Spring Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs. Jody lived in the Rayville area most of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Siloam Spring Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, also at the church. Burial will be in the Crowley Cemetery near Rayville following the services.
