Erna Predikant Zuklin, 79, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 11, 1936, in Jagerndorf, Czechoslovakia, to Anton and Elfrieda Schneider Predikant. She graduated from elementary school in Jagerndorf, and elementary school and Continuations School Seligenthal, Landshut, 1953. She married Adolph Zuklin on Nov. 17, 1956. She lived much of her life in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Erna was a homemaker who loved her job as the room mother at her children’s school parties, making German treats. She worked some later in life, but mostly loved being a homemaker, mother and wife. Erna loved to cook, play cards, motorcycles and her ‘98 Mustang. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Eagles Club, Elks Club and the Vets Club.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Adolph Zuklin; her parents, Anton and Elfrieda Predikant; and a granddaughter, Michelle Storm.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Anthony Zuklin, (granddaughter Jessica); daughter, Carolyn and husband, Gary Hughes (grandson Joshua and granddaughter Haley); Johnny Zuklin (grandson Nathan); son, Adolph and wife, Connie Zuklin (grandsons Damian and Trevor); daughter, Irene and husband, Ronnie Carter (grandson Michael and granddaughter Kristy); eight great grandchildren; sister, Helene and husband, Bruce Chavis; sister, Auguste; brother, Klaus Predikant; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs,Mo. Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
