Jerry Lynn Tindall, 69, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died July 25, 2015, after a battle with heart failure.
He was born Jan 7, 1946, in Oran, Mo. He graduated from Oran High School and from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in psychology. He worked as a parole and probation officer early on and devoted most of his life working in workshops serving persons with disabilities. He was the assistant director of Vocational Services Inc. in Liberty from 1994 until 2012, when he retired. He then went to work at Watkins Mill for the Missouri Division of Social Services as a youth specialist II. He has achieved much in his career. He loved to sing and play drums. He also loved sports and playing League Pool and country dancing. He enjoyed his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; two daughters, Maria Tindall and Brandi of Boise, Idaho, and Monica Justice of Columbus, Ohio; six stepchildren, Amy Kennedy of Tampa, Fla., Jeremy and Jessica Kennedy, Excelsior Springs, Joshua Kennedy and Tomiko of Shawnee, Kan., Jason and Courtney Kennedy of Kearney, Mo., Amber and Pete Kriegel, Parkville, Mo., and Amanda Cruse of North Kansas City; and 16 grandchildren who will miss “PaPa” very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norvell Anderson Tindall and Nancy Byrtle Tindall; and his older brother, Samuel Wilson Tindall.
In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, there will not be a traditional funeral service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home, 925 E.
