Mae Dean Creason

Mae Dean Creason, 93 of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, formerly of Orrick, Missouri, went to her heavenly home with Jesus on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center.  Mae was born in Orrick, to Joseph Harrison Richardson and Mary Caroline (Hufford) Richardson. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Creason, and he passed away in 2002. Mae had lived 80 years in Orrick before she moved to Excelsior Springs 13 years ago.  Mae had worked as a bullet inspector for the Lake City Ammunition plant in the 50’s. She also had worked at the Excelsior Springs Laundry Mat for several years. She also sold Avon products for many years around Orrick. Mae was a member of the Orrick Assembly of God Church for many years. Recently, she has attended the Northland Abundant Life Worship Center in Kansas City.

Mae loved Gospel music and she loved to cook. She especially loved to bake a variety of pies. Getting together with her family was her favorite thing to do, especially gathering with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Creason in 2002, all her siblings, and two grandchildren, Jamie Creason in 1990 and Caleb Creason in 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Duke Creason and Joseph Creason (Jenni) all of Excelsior Springs, Three daughters, Sharon Curtis of Excelsior Springs, Sandy Martin (Storm) of Kingsville, Missouri, and Robin McDonald (Lonnie) of Grandview, Missouri.  Eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mae was held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Gowing funeral home in Orrick. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Tony Ceballos officiating. Burial will follow in South Point Cemetery near Orrick.

Arrangements are through Gowing Funeral Home of Orrick.
