Dozens of local residents joined city officials and representatives of the Missouri Department of Transportation on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 22, as the ribbon was cut for the two bridges on Missouri 10 that have been under construction since March.
The ribbon-cutting was preceded by brief statements from Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Director Courtney Cole, Excelsior Springs Mayor Ambrose Buckman and MoDOT District Engineer Daniel Niec. Afterward the city hosted a reception at the Hall of Waters, and the bridges opened for traffic on Wednesday, Dec. 23, though there are still some parts of the project that aren’t quite complete.
