Joan E. Nance, 89, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Dec. 20, 2015.
Joan was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Providence, R.I., to Clarence G. and Maude Hoey Allen.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She worked many years as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Goode and husband Donald, and Bob and wife Sally Nance, Betty Nance, and Bruce and wife Deborah Nance; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, followed by funeral service at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, with burial following at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 816-630-3131.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the church.
