Mail carrier retires after long career

Jan. 4, 2019 – After delivering the mail of Excelsior Springs residents for over three decades, one mail carrier retired last week.

now keep him busy with certain tasks around the house.

“Honey do’s,” he said with a laugh.

 Ligon said he plans to enjoy retirement and do what he can to stay busy. He said he will spend more time with his six grandchildren.

Kathy said she’s looking forward to spending retirement with her “fabulous” husband.

“I’m very excited to be able to get to spend more time with him,” she said.

 Ligon said he wants to thank everyone on his route. He said he enjoyed getting to know everyone.

“It’s been fun,” he said.
