September 18, 2018—The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting daytime and nighttime paving operations along Highway 69 in Clay County. Expect the following traffic changes:

Crews will close the right southbound lane of 69 Highway between S. McCleary Rd. and N. Lightburne St. beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 until Tuesday, Oct. 2. This will be 24/7 closures with crews working in three separate segments. Only one segment will be closed at a time. Crews will begin with S. McCleary Rd. to the Fishing River Bridge, then the Fishing River Bridge to Route 33 and finally Route 33 to N. Lightburne St.

Once the mainline road work is completed, crews will then complete shoulders, entrances and crossovers as well. Motorists should expect delays during morning peak hours. Motorists should also plan to use alternate routes. All work is weather dependent.

Motorists should pay close attention to crews throughout this operation and expect uneven pavement throughout the duration of the project.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
