Lifeflight transports Rayville driver to hospital following collision

September 17, 2018—A collision involving a 2003 Ford and 2005 Freightliner sends two local residents to area hospitals with injuries.

Preliminary Crash Report Details from Missouri State Highway Patrol describe a collision that occurred at the intersection of 13 Highway and South Street in Ray County. On Thursday, Sept. 13, at 4:35 p.m., Lace D. Clark, 18, was traveling eastbound in a 2003 Ford when she entered the intersection into the path of the Freightliner that was traveling southbound. The Freightliner struck the left rear quarter panel of the Ford.

Clark, of Rayville, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Lifeflight to St. Luke’s on The Plaza. An occupant in the Clark vehicle, a 15-year-old female juvenile from Richmond, also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital by EMS. The driver of the Freightliner, Barry N. Weaver, 50, of Warrensburg, was uninjured, according to the report.

The collision was investigated by Tpr. J. H. Thompson and assisted by Tpr. A. M. Beckwith of MSHP. Ray County Sheriff’s deputies and Richmond Police Department also assisted.
