Brock Shannon Moon

Brock Shannon Moon, 48, of Kansas City North, passed away at home on Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous eight-year battle with kidney cancer.

Brock was born March 30, 1970, in Richmond, Mo., the younger of two sons of Lawrence Carlton and Vicki Lynn (Kirlin) Moon. He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst College. His career in the mortgage loan industry spanned 20-plus years, most recently with First United Mortgage. Brock was a lifelong Catholic. He grew up in St. Ann parish in Excelsior Springs and was currently a member of St. James parish in Liberty.
Brock was united in marriage to Dana Ann Stein on September 4, 1993, at St. Ann Church in Excelsior Springs. Along with his wife of 24 years, Brock leaves his children: Lauren McKenzie, Katelyn Elizabeth and Nathaniel Carlton Moon; parents: Larry and Vicki Moon; brother: Todd Stephen Moon; as well as other family members and many friends.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a service celebrating Brock’s life at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 26, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.
