68-year old Excelsior man extricated from vehicle in crash on 69 Hwy.

March 5, 2018 – At 1:08 p.m., on Monday, March 5, Reggie Scruggs, of Excelsior Springs, was traveling northbound on 69 Hwy., a half-mile before Cameron Rd., when his 1996 Geo ran off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree.

Scruggs, 68, was extricated from his vehicle and transported to Liberty Hospital by Excelsior Springs EMS, with moderate injuries.

Cpl. Green of Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the crash. According to online traffic crash report details, Scruggs was wearing a safety device, and his vehicle was totaled.

Excelsior Springs Police Department aided with traffic control during the incident. For a short time, one lane of northbound 69 Hwy. was shut down to traffic while the scene was processed. Traffic is now unobstructed.
