William “Bruce” Mawby
November 29, 1946—January 25, 2018

William “Bruce” Mawby, 71, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on Jan.25, 2018, in his home. Bruce was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 29, 1946.

Bruce graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1964. He worked at Ford Motor Company KCAP for 20 years. Bruce enjoyed wood working for his grandchildren, family and friends and built trophies for the Excelsior Springs Annual BBQ Fly-in.

Bruce is survived by his son Scott Mawby and wife, Kim; son, Craig Piburn; son, Andy Mawby and wife, Cherlynn; son, Jonathan Mawby and wife, Lacee; grandchildren: Joshua, Carissa, Kamara, Kenzie, Bryce, Jackson, Daiton, Aubrey, Blake, Anika and Charley; great-grandchildren: Carson, Maddock, and Monroe; brothers: Jack, Scott and Alan; sisters: Janet and Renita.

Family, friends and others whose lives Bruce touched are invited to join the funeral service held on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church, 13360 S. New Garden Rd., Excelsior Springs, MO. John Gilmer will be officiating. The Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. following the funeral service.

The family also wants to extend their thanks, love and support to all of their family and friends who are mourning the loss of Bruce. May God hold you all during this difficult time.
