Carl Franklin Eft

Carl Franklin Eft, 61, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, in North Kansas City, Mo. Carl was born Nov.25, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo. He is the son of the late Robert E. and Dorothy E. (Pahlman) Eft. He married Laura Prosser on Sept. 14, 1991, in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
In his younger days, Carl was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 550. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1975, serving as an Ordinanceman for four years and in the reserves for three years. Carl was a proud member of the NRA who loved hunting and the outdoors. He was a lead maintenance man at Coveris Inc. and was with the company for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, Laura (Prosser) Eft; daughter, Brandi Eft (Fiancé, Robert Johnson- Waggerman II) of Independence, Mo.; mother Dorothy E. (Pahlman) Eft and one grandchild, Jessica Nicole Johnson. He is also survived by three nieces.
In addition to his father, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 29, from 6-7 p.m. at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs, with a short service to follow. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
