Excelsior Springs Police Department Weekly Report, Part II (Dec. 19-Dec. 25)

Saturday, December 23, 2017

12:13 a.m., 200 block of Dunbar Ave.—Officer responded on a report of someone falling down the stairs at the residence. Officer stood by until no longer needed by the ambulance.

1:10 a.m., 2000 W. Jesse James Rd.—Officers responded with the fire department on a possible structure fire at the location. The fire alarm was an apparent alarm malfunction and officers stood by until no longer needed.

1:23 a.m., 1000 block of W. Forest Ln.—Officer responded on a report of someone yelling and screaming in the area. Officer contacted a WF, 23, who was very intoxicated and causing problems. She was detained for 12 hours detoxification.

1:23 a.m., 100 block of Thompson Ave.—Officer responded on a report of a subject laying in the roadway. Officer contacted a subject who had fallen and injured himself. Officer stood by until the ambulance responded and transported the subject to Liberty Hospital.

5:55 a.m., 500 block of Pierson St.—Officers responded with EMS to a medical alert pendant. It was determined to have been accidentally pushed and no care was needed.

9:04 a.m., 500 block of S. Kansas City Ave.—Officer responded to a parking complaint involving a vehicle blocking a driveway. The owner was contacted, agreed to move the vehicle and was issued a parking citation.

12:17 p.m., NE 152nd St and Salem Rd.—Officer responded to a report of a careless driver. The vehicle was located parked at a residence.

1:29 p.m., 600 block of Tiger Dr.—Officers responded to a commercial burglary alarm. The building was found secure.

8:18 p.m., Isley Blvd. and Regent Ave.—A WM, 49, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and illegal plates.

8:40 p.m., 1000 Magnolia West Ave.—Officer responded to the area on a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and nothing suspicious was found.

11:43 p.m., 69 Hwy. and Patsy Ln.—Officers responded on a report of a vehicle going north bound in the south bound lane of 69 Hwy. Officers checked the area and no vehicle was located.

3:34 a.m., 200 block of Miller Ave—Officers responded on a report of an intoxicated male party that was a friend of his roommates. He was advised it was a civil matter.

8:56 a.m., 700 block of N. Marietta St.—Dixie Shelton, WF, 43, was involved in a minor accident when her vehicle slid into a fence.

9:56 a.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—An officer provided a vehicle unlock.

11:03 a.m., 69 Hwy. and Vintage Dr.—John Smith, WM, 18, was involved in a non-injury accident when his vehicle drove off the roadway.

11:12 a.m., 500 block of Summit St.—An officer spoke with a party via telephone regarding harassment and civil issues. She was advised of her options.

11:23 a.m., 69 Hwy. and McCleary Rd.—Aaron Stafford, WM, 34, and Jacob Carr, WM, 17, were involved in a minor non-injury accident.

11:50 a.m., Rowell Ave. and Milwaukee St.—Officer responded to check on a vehicle which reportedly had been broken down on the side of the roadway for several months. Contact was made with the owner and the vehicle was properly parked. Nothing further was requested.

2:00 p.m., 900 block of Isley Blvd.—An officer provided a vehicle unlock.

2:57 p.m., 700 block of Bell Dr.—Myles Casey, WM, 20, and Larry Oliphant, WM, 37, were involved in a minor non-injury accident.

4:17 p.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Rd.—Officers responded to a report of a disturbance that had occurred with one party trying to harm another with a vehicle. Both parties were contacted. The victim did not wish to assist with prosecution.

5:06 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Officers responded to a stealing at Walmart which had just occurred. The party was not located. The investigation continues.

6:12 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Officer unlocked a vehicle for a party.

7:51 p.m., 300 block of S. Main St.—Officer stood by to keep the peace for a custody exchange.

9:45 p.m., Old Orchard Ave and Cypress—Officer responded to a parking complaint. The vehicle owner was contacted and agreed to move the vehicle.

10:00 p.m., 700 block of Isley Blvd.—Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault. The parties had separated prior to officers’ arrival. Information was taken for a report and a signed complaint was taken.

11:08 p.m., 14000 block of Salem Rd.—Officers assisted Clay County in locating a male party who had been in an accident on Salem Rd. The party was located and turned over to Clay County.

 

Monday, December 25, 2017

10:41 a.m., 100 block of Richmond St.—Officer responded in reference to a stray canine running in the area and barking at other canines in the area. Officers were unable to catch the canine and did not think the canine would bother anyone.

11:47 a.m., 100 block of Highland Park—Officer contacted a WF in reference to a sexual assault which occurred. Investigation continues.

2:26 p.m., 1800 block of Wornall Rd.—Officer assisted a subject with getting into her vehicle.

3:21 p.m., 100 block of Easy St.—Officers responded with medics to a report of a nonresponsive male with diabetic issues. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

5:42 p.m., 500 block of Summit St.—Officers responded to a report of a female subject trying to get medicine for her sister. They were nervous to go inside with the male subject that lives there. The parties were advised of their options.

5:54 p.m., 300 block of S. Kansas City Ave.—Officer responded to a report of a domestic assault happening in the apartment below them. A BM, 62 left the residence and a 12-hour rule was put in place.

6:45 p.m., 700 block of Tiger Dr.—Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between mother and son. Argument was verbal only; mother and son were advised of their options.

6:49 p.m., Isley Blvd. and S. Francis St.—An officer responded to a report of a traffic accident. The parties involved, Leslie A. Schraufek, WF, 49, Steven F. Farris, WM, 29, and Steven R. Farris, WM, 47, had no injuries. A report was taken.

10:26 p.m., Wornall Rd. and Titus Ave.—Officers responded to the area on a report of a suspicious party. The party was gone prior to officer’s arrival.
