Ruth Alice Golden
July 23, 1920 – December 12, 2017
Ruth Alice (Grover) Golden, age 97, of Branson, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12. Ruth entered this world in Excelsior Springs, Mo., on July 23, 1920, the daughter of Walter and Mattie (Bassett) Grover.
She was joined in marriage to Cornelius Golden on December 13, 1941. Ruth wanted to celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary with Cornelius in Heaven.
A woman of strong faith and character, Ruth dedicated her life to witnessing about the Lord to all she encountered. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who took special care of her grandkids. Her contagious laughter will long be remembered. Never saying an unwholesome word about anyone, she was truly a woman of Ephesians 4:29.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Irving Grover; a son-in-law, Bob Taylor; and a great-grandson, Dmitriy Taylor.
Ruth is survived by two daughters: Martha Taylor of Branson, Missouri, and Patricia Maddux of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date at Old Union Christian Union Church, in Lawson, Mo., with burial to follow in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Union Christian Union Cemetery. To leave an online condolence, visit cremationsoftheozarks.com.
